Create Computer Tutorials
Record What You See On Your Screen
Do you ever wish that you could clone your teaching self? Do you feel that if you had more time to tutor students, or provide that extra support, that they would be more successful? Do you some times feel that if you were a robot, or a video, that students would pay more attention or retain what you taught longer? If you answered yes to any of the questions above, maybe creating video tutorials that students can view on their own time is a viable solution. Software that allows you to digitally ‘clone’ your lesson is available in the form of Producer. Producer is a free download from Microsoft. It is an add on for PowerPoint that allows you to record sound and video screen captures. You can use it to create a computerized tutorial on how to do different things on the computer. Students can view and listen to the tutorial and rewind or replay as often as needed. Students can create their own as well.
